Some grammar and diction issues. About commas, subject-verb agreement, over-reliance on the word "be" and lacks active voice. However, the column presents an interesting argument... Which is the entire purpose of a column. A good column create a water-cooler debate or a perspective that is new. This column does that. A better editing job would have made this column even better.

Some grammar mistakes, such as misused commas and noun-verb agreement. Noun-pronoun agreement. Nice comprehensive overview of Detroit sports. A lot of statistics and names. Would a non-Detroit sports fan read this or care? Would a Detroit sports fan read this and learn anything they didn't already know? Nice, basic overview of Detroit sports. Needed better editing to fix some of the mistakes.
